Polish conductor, born in Wroclaw on 9th February 1974. Michal Nesterowicz studied at the Academy of Music in Wrocław and graduated with honours from the conducting class of Marek Pijarowski in 1997. Two years later was among the winners of at the 6th Grzegorz Fitelberg International Conducting Competition in Katowice.

In 2004, at the age of 29, he has been appointed Artistic Director of Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra in Gdańsk. 


In 2008 became First Prize Winner of the 9th Conducting Competition of Cadaques in Spain, immediately after he has been appointed Principal Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra in Chile, where he has stayed until the end of 2011.


Michal Nesterowicz has worked with many different soloists including: Ewa Podleś, Angela Marambio, Gwendolyn Bradley, Shlomo Mintz, Rachel Barton Pine, Ivan Monighetti. Javier Perianes or Patricia Kopatchinskaja. 


In Poland, he has guest conducted leading Polish orchestras: Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Beethoven Academy Orchestra, and Sinfonietta Cracovia.


Highly appreciated abroad, he could be found on the podiums of: Wiener Kammerorchester, Royal Flemish Philharmonic, Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, Orquesta Sinfònica de Barcelona y Nacional de Catalunya, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, Jerusalem Camerata Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Puerto Rico, Orquesta Sinfônica de Estado de São Paulo, Spokane Symphony Orchestra.



Forthcoming engagements include concerts with: Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Symphony Orchestra of New Russia, Brussels Philharmonic, Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, Orquesta Sinfónica de Granada, Virtuosi Italiani (Verona), Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, Basel Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Orquesta Nacional de España, Ingolstadt Georgian Chamber Orchestra and many others.
